How Diamonds are created

Diamonds are a bunch of Carbon atoms
Built by the earth through a lot of tantrums

Unlike what many think, the dear old coal
Does not play any major role.

It is created deep below the earth’s surface
With a lot of heat and pressure, just as if it was in a furnace

Volcanoes helps to push them up
At a great speed that makes it the right setup

Once on the surface they cool quickly, albeit
Not as their shiny selves but as rocks called Kimberlite.

Mining and Polishing and a lot still needs to be done
Before the world relishes the treasure that is won.

The Story of how Diamonds are created begins when…

Long long ago the earth was a hot and angry planet. Its squishy and molten interiors were red hot and always bubbling with anger. Right inside that boiling, bubbling hot earth, in its deepest center there lived a family of bubbles.  Mama, Papa and their 6 baby bubbles. The 6 siblings were close to each other and would always move around together.  They even shared the same name and were called Carby.

The Carbys were very scared of the angry earth. They were scared of its bubbling red molten lava lakes that flowed through it spluttering like boiling oil. The Carby siblings wanted to leave this hot place and see more of what lay beyond this.

Their mother would tell them to be patient and one day they will surely see beyond these hot walls. And when that happens, she told them, they will smile so brightly that their smile will light up everything around them. Days and months went by. Mama and Papa bubble grew old.

One day they told their 6 children that the time will soon come when their wish will be fulfilled. But Mama bubble warned them to be together always and never to leave each other or else they will burst and die. She told them that soon they will feel a tremor and the molten river would start bubbling louder. The long shafts running through their land would start to rumble and roar. It is then, they will know that their time has come.  She gave them a long band and asked them to tie themselves up to the walls of their house tightly so that they do not lose each other. She advised them to follow the lava lakes as it would take them to their destination. Saying so Mama and Papa bubble went POP!
